SPOTIFY customers using the iOS app claim the app has been crashing and glitching a lot over the past few weeks, making it “stressful” to use.
At first, iPhone-owning Spotify customers believed it was just them experiencing issues – but it turns out most iOS users are affected.
Two iOS issues in particular have been labelled as “under investigation” by Spotify.
This includes when “the app is crashing or the playback suddenly stops” and when users are met with a “Can’t open link” error message whenever they tap the widget.
Apparently Spotify has been misbehaving for months, according to users.
“Spotify iOS app is so stressful to use,” one user wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
Another customer, using the app on an iPhone 6s, wrote: “The app stops working after playing for two to three songs and have to restart the app, issue still persists.
“Been awhile since I have issued a report but there is no change until now.”
Spotify has acknowledged the problems, saying it has passed on complaints to its bugs teams.
However, it has yet to announce anything regarding a fix.
So, for now, it’s best customers are patient.
Although, that hasn’t stopped some customers from switching to rival streaming apps, such as Apple Music, YouTube Music and Amazon Music.
“I’m switching to a different app for listening to songs online,” another user tweeted.
“I’ll stream on Spotify but it’s been acting weird asf.”
Another wrote: “Well done Spotify. I am switching back to YouTube music! Thanks for sending me back where I belong.”
