SPOTIFY has announced it the monthly cost of a Premium plan is going up again.
Customers have shared their outrage as this is the second time the price has increased since July 2023.
Spotify is getting more expensive again next month[/caption]Spotify Premium members will begin paying more from July, the tech giant has announced.
Users will see their monthly bill rise from $10.99 to $11.99.
Premium offers unlimited ad-free streaming, whereas the free, paid version of Spotify relies on ads.
The duo plan, which allows two users, is also increasing in price from $14.99 to $16.99.
Meanwhile, the family plan is going up from $16.99 to $19.99.
AGAIN?
It’s not the first time recently that Spotify has put up prices.
In July 2023, the price increased from $9.99 a month to $10.99.
That means customers will be paying 20% more next month than they were little over a year ago.
Spotify said it is raising prices so it can “continue to invest in and innovate on our product features and bring users the best experience.”
It is now more expensive than Apple Music, which remains at $10.99 a month for now.
However, customers are outraged at the announcement.
“I honestly cannot imagine why a single person is still paying for Spotify Premium at this point,” wrote one on X.
Another threatened to revert to illegal music downloads, writing: “Spotify increasing their subscription price again, I’m gonna cancel my account and start pirating music again!”
“Spotify y’all are doing way too much raising your price again,” said a third.
“I’m like to the point where I might drop y’all.”
